I Ain't Sayin' He's a Gold Digger . . .

Psst  . . .

Mike . . .

Yo, Mikey . . .

That shiny crap you saw, thinking maybe you had a team worth losing your pride, sanity, a few brain cells, and maybe your job for . . .

Yeah, that . . .

Dude, that ain't gold.

I didn't think the 49ers were going to just hand us the game last night.  They have some great players on the team.  There's also a reason people liked Alex Smith coming out of college, if they could just get some big meatheads in front of him so he didn't get his ass handed to him every night, things would be groovy.  In theory.  The reality is that the pieces just aren't fitting together out there.  And Mike having an aneurysm on the field every week isn't making anyone drive the crazy train out of San Fran.  But seriously, there were some horrible calls out there.  Stanky awful.

And that makes me feel better.  Yes, I'm totally deflecting.  It's better then throwing out bullshit excuses about the wind or whining about losing Bush.  I'm not even jumping back on the Hartley redemption wagon either.  Fuck that.  It's week two.  That show ain't over yet.

The reality is that if both teams were playing at the top of their game, it was going to be a tough battle.  Neither was quite there, so it was even-fucking-steven anyway.  The important thing is that, once again, the Saints weren't red hot, and they still found a way to win.

Somebody better buy Courtney Roby a nice, fat steak for me.  Love that kid.  Have I mentioned that before?  It bears repeating.  Weekly.  Get used to it.

  1. It was WEIRD watching the Saints play the 49ers again, just unsettling and weird. However, the main difference this time was that the saints found the way to win. You are right about that one. In the past, we'd have lost that game.

  2. Ditto. Happy we're getting our foes out of the way early. Just gotta take care of biz on Sunday. I want their blood...

  3. If I ever bump into Mr Roby I will more than happily buy that man a steak as he is awesome. He gives us such great field positions on his returns and plays with his heart on his sleave in every return coverage. That boy sure is goooooooood!

Hi by the way. Hope you and the family are all good.
